Nissan’s new Black Edition GT-R has 45 more horsepower and an MSRP of $109,900.
The new look GT-R offers new colours, new wheel designs and more power, Nissan says.
The 2012 Black Edition, the only model available in Canada, will feature custom red and black Recaro racing seats, red and black interior trim with dark headliner and special black six-spoke RAYS lightweight wheels.
“The Nissan GT-R continues to be a multi-dimensional performance machine that lives up to the concept of ‘the ultimate supercar that can be driven by anyone, anytime, anywhere,’” said Judy Wheeler, director of marketing, Nissan Canada Inc.
“With the significant enhancements for 2012, including its 530-horsepower twin turbo V6 and racing-inspired styling, the GT-R legend continues to grow.”
The new price point puts the 2012 GT-R roughly $10,000 more than the 2011 model; this coming off a poor 2010 for the Nissan’s super car. According to Canadian light vehicle sales figures for 2010, only 62 GT-Rs were sold in Canada last year. That is a 53 per cent dip over 2009 when over 130 new units were sold.
